New electrically-heated box oven at Gerritsen van Groningen B.V.
Glasbeek Finish B.V. delivered a new electrically-heated box oven with a PLC to Gerritsen van Groningen B.V. in 2020. This box oven replaces an 18-year-old gas powered oven, which was no longer in line with Gerritsen van Groningen’s sustainability plans.
From raw materials to a final product
Gerritsen van Groningen continuously strives to optimise its production methods and competences. The company has more than 50 years of experience in the metal industry, 40 of which in wet coating and powder coating (with dimensions of up to 3,000 x 1,500 x 1,500 mm (lxwxh)). These years of experience enable Gerritsen van Groningen to realise high-quality metal products from raw material to the final products.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR)
In order to be able to work more sustainably, Gerritsen van Groningen has not only had a new electrically-heated oven installed, but also 73 solar panels. As a result, the furnace can run entirely on solar energy with good weather. That means CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 25%. So it’s both environmentally friendly and economical!
Gerritsen van Groningen and Glasbeek have been partners for a long time. In this joint company film, we are pleased to present the new plant and the powder coating installation we delivered in 2006, which has been running without incidents for 15 years. This gives a good, complete picture of Gerritsen van Groningen’s activities in the field of powder coating. In the film, you will see:
- The process with the new electrically-heated box oven with PLC (part 1);
- A powder coating installation including a spraying tunnel, drying oven, powder cabin and highly efficient A-cap curing oven (part 2).
